Un des moments phares du festival de Cannes 2008 aura été la venue et la présence de Nick Nolte aux cotés d'Alejandro Jodorowsky, accompagné par Simon Shandor son producteur (Clavis Films, Paris) sur le tapis rouge du temple du cinéma international.
Venus pour défendre le nouveau film « gangster spaghetti métaphysique » KING SHOT d'Alejandro Jodorowsky, leur apparition devant les caméras a aussi bien surpris les médias que les professionnels.
Tout au long du festival, ces derniers ont montré un intérêt tout particulier autour de ce projet, Simon Shandor gérant de la société Clavis Films, ayant réussi à réunir à cette occasion sur un même projet les deux réalisateurs mythiques : Alejandro Jodorowsky et David Lynch.
En effet, KING SHOT marque le retour très attendu d'Alejandro Jodorowsky grâce à la mise en place d'une coproduction franco-américaine. Simon Shandor (Clavis Films) et le coproducteur Eric Bassett (Industrial Entertainment) ont confié la vente internationale du film à la société Absurda/David Lynch Company, désignant David Lynch comme producteur exécutif de KING SHOT.
